Hi, I’m Kelsey!
I’m a New York based fully certified Pilates Trainer, Movement Educator, Life-long Student, Dancer, Performing Artist, and New Mom. As a Movement Expert, Broadway Performer, and Dancer of over 30 years, I understand the importance of taking care of your body. I was first introduced to Pilates through my early dance training under Kelly Leonardi of Blue Moon Pilates in Southern California. Later on in 2009, I started training more seriously in Chicago with my mentor, Linda Silbert, as a form of cross-training for my dancing. From there-the rest is history! I instantly loved the mind-body connection I found in Pilates and loved the similarities to dance that Joseph Pilates created in his movements. I wanted to find a form of exercise that would lengthen and strengthen my muscles and help me feel my best all the time-I found exactly what I was looking for in Pilates.
In 2013, I received my fully comprehensive Power Pilates certification through Fitness Formula Club (FFC) under the direction of Liv Berger in Chicago. My comprehensive training includes Anatomy, Movement Principles, Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Tower, Chair, Barrels, and JumpBoard. I am trained to work with people of all ages and populations, from beginners to elite athletes, and from post-rehabilitation to restoration. I am fully certified in Pre/Post Natal Pilates and have 10+ years experience in working with people of varying physical needs (back injuries, recovering knee/ankle issues, post hip replacement, post rehabbed wrist/arm injuries, etc). My training didn’t stop in 2013! I continue my education annually through workshops focused on pre/postnatal Pilates, low-back care, special populations, Pilates for athletes, and functional movement.
As a trainer, I’m known for helping and empowering my clients to be able to do what they want in life through movement, for however long they want to do it. I believe that finding physical freedom and deeper strength is possible for anyone, no matter where they are at in their fitness journey.
When I’m not teaching, working out, or dancing, I love to work on DIY projects around my 100+ year old house, getting outside, finding new antique shops in the Hudson Valley, and spending time with my wife, our young daughter, and our two giant pups, Theo and Bruno!
A Little About Me…
What is Pilates?
Pilates is a full-body, low-impact movement practice that builds strength, flexibility, stability, and balance through controlled, intentional exercise. Designed to support both physical performance and everyday movement, Pilates develops deep core strength, improves posture, and enhances body awareness — helping you move with greater ease and confidence.
Unlike high-impact workouts, Pilates emphasizes precision, alignment, and mindful movement. This approach strengthens the body from the inside out, creating lasting strength without unnecessary strain on the joints.
Originally developed over 100 years ago and embraced by dancers for injury prevention and performance training, Pilates has evolved into a globally respected exercise system practiced by millions worldwide. Research continues to highlight its ability to improve mobility, balance, cognitive focus, and overall quality of life.
Intelligent Movement for Every Body
Pilates is more than exercise — it’s a mind-body practice that teaches you how to move better. Through focused breathing and precise movement patterns, you develop greater awareness, coordination, and functional strength.
Each movement begins from the core, creating a strong foundation that supports stability and endurance throughout the entire body. Whether you are new to fitness, returning from injury, or looking to deepen your practice, Pilates meets you where you are.
The Classical Pilates Method
The classical Pilates system incorporates specialized apparatus such as the Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Ladder Barrel, High Chair, and Wunda Chair. Using spring resistance and body weight, these tools create a dynamic and adaptable workout designed to develop the four pillars of Pilates: Strength, Stability, Stretch, and Stamina.
Rather than pushing harder, Pilates teaches you to move smarter — building balanced strength that supports long-term health.
The Principles Behind the Practice
Pilates is guided by foundational principles that ensure safe, effective, and purposeful movement:
Concentration – staying present with each movement
Control – moving with precision instead of speed
Centering – strengthening from the core outward
Precision – quality of movement over quantity
Breath – supporting movement through mindful breathing
Flow – creating seamless, connected motion
Benefits That Extend Beyond the Studio
Pilates is not about extremes — it’s about sustainable strength and confidence in your body. With consistent practice, clients often experience improved posture, stronger core support, increased flexibility, reduced tension, and greater ease in daily activities.
Most importantly, Pilates helps you reconnect with how your body feels and moves — creating a foundation for lifelong movement, wellness, and resilience.
